Daily Pillars of the Christian Life

This Daily Pillars series is a growing archive of brief articles designed to help the believer grow in Christ in daily life (Eph 4:20-24) and to provide a resource for discipling others to do the same (Mt 28:18-20). Set apart from our more comprehensive Reformed Articles section, this set provides periodic bite-sized papers that believers can easily and quickly read and, by God's grace, put quickly to use in their daily life.

We pray they are a blessing to you and glorifying to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Bible Reading

Though we have been made new creatures by God's sovereign power and grace, we still have to be renewed in the whole of our being, thus Paul exhorts believers to be renewed in their minds (Rom.12:2). Our thinking needs to be brought into line with the mind of Christ (2 Cor.10:5) and our lives ought to be lived in accordance with every word from God's mouth (Matt.4:4). Repentance

According to God, what's in our hearts is central to everything (Matt.12:34,35; Eph.6:6), thus our hearts ought to be full of humility and love, so that whatever we do is done with our might, in God's way and for His glory (Col.3:23). Yet, when we allow the Spirit to search us, we see how far short we fall from having perfect motives and whole-hearted sincerity. Read the full article on Repentance.

Prayer

God's children have been given free access to a treasure beyond measure, and everything we need can be obtained just by asking (Matt.7:7-11). Yet, we so often ignore this resource and go it alone, thinking that we have adequate resources in ourselves for the task of serving and glorifying Christ. It is through prayer that we take hold of the riches that God has laid up for us. Read the full article on Prayer.
